I have one completed WU, which finished more than 24 hours ago, and which is still "uploading".
Other WUs from CEP2 have completed since and were uploaded correctly since. The log contains the following lines (I tried to keep it short.)
Is there something I can do from my side ? |

There was a brief discussion on this file locking today. Something on the server needs to reset this... a boot would do that e.g.

Thanks.
So my only hope is that this problem is more pervasive... I can't imagine a server being rebooted just for my WU. |

I think he meant a reboot of your client system. I have the same problem on a wu for the past 3 days. I have rebooted multiple times.

I did also reboot already, and the WU is still stuck with the same error.

Guess I have to work on my English, for what I wrote was meant to convey that it's "a server side only fixable problem". In this 3 way relationship of client WCG scheduler / CEP2 file server, it's maybe Harvard needing to operate the wrench and beat it, which is the least intrusive of all boots on the WCG continuity. Other file locks at WCG have most always cleared by themselves since being time-expiring.
Here's a link to a past discussion on this: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/...ad,29282_offset,50#285334 --//-- |

Your English is fine ;-)
I understood it as being a server problem. But as I anyway had to reboot my machine for other reasons, I just mentioned that it had no effect. The old discussion you pointed to, seems to end last summer with a partial resolution. It seems there was no activity on that subject since. Hopefully one of the techs will chime in. |

Aye, I've got the same issue here.
----------------------------------------"Error on file upload ... error locking file Temporarily failed upload ... transient upload error" Only for my clean energy unit. I noticed it on 25 Feb, but it may have persisted before then.
I'm here to spread love all over the world.

I too have 2 CEP2 result files on 1 machine that are stuck with the server file lock error. A 3rd result from the machine uploaded OK, and a result uploaded OK from another computer after the first file became stuck.
----------------------------------------I expect that the WUs with the stuck result files count against the CEP2 quota that we have set on the WCG Device Manager page, so if the number of stuck files builds up as more WUs are crunched, the quota will be reached and no more CEP2 work will be downloaded. How long can this status continue before something times out and the results get discarded? Until the WU Return-by date? C'mon Harvard, if you want us to crunch 'em, take the results.
