New stats program

I've been working on a program to accumulate workunit history and calculate some stats.
It should help take some of the hassle out gathering the data and doing the calculations for some
of the basic stats related to devices, workunits, and projects, like
average claimed and granted, points per hour, etc..

I named it WCG Device and Workunit Stats. (I know, it's kind of lame, but I'm a developer not a branding genius.)

It's finally gotten to the point where I think it's ready for general consumption.

You can read about it and see some screen shots and instructions on the web site . The download is in the forums .

Thanks for testing help and suggestions go to fellow XtremeSystems team members:

Comments, suggestions, and criticism are welcomed.

(This is version 1.0d, so please don't be too harsh with the criticism.biggrin)

Re: New stats program

Hello Mike,

I can't test your program further, because after pressing the 'Update' button, I get this image:

In version 1.0a you had fixed date issues, I think you've to fix some more.
An example of the format from page 80 (15 results/page), when visiting my results page, looks like:
CMD2_ 1578-1I7X_ B.clustersOccur-2BEX_ A.clustersOccur_ 0_ 13829_ 17181_ 1-- 1430776 Valid 09/03/11 21:56:35 13/03/11 06:23:28 3.88 75.3 / 77.6
I'm using the Dutch Windows country setting for date and time:
Time: 9:07:38
Date: 21-3-2011

[edit]
I have no idea in which order the results are retrieved, but I think it's the first one the program tries:
BETA_ X0000064651488200602171929_ 2-- 1020031 Valid 17/03/11 19:35:45 17/03/11 20:50:44 1.24 25.2 / 25.5
[/edit]

Re: New stats program

@Crystal Pellet-I'm going to have to come up with a small test program for date conversion. I'll post when it's available.

@skgiven-Thanks. I was hoping it would be useful to more people than just me. Let me know if you have any problems.

Re: New stats program

Very good tool,
Used this to work out that an i7-860 supported by WinX64 outperforms an i7-920 same clocks (Winx86) by 20% for HFCC.
I will be moving to x64 earlier than originally planned. Even if it's just a week or so earlier I will do the equivalent of 2more days work as a result.

Got a time error when I refreshed, and would like to be able to export a query (perhaps this can already be done)?

i7-920 @3GHz on XPx86 17points per hour per thread (HFCC).
i7-860 @3GHz Winx64 20.4points per hour per thread (HFCC).

Re: New stats program

@Asia.-I'll post when I have a test program for all of the #$#$#%#$ date formats crying. Exporting is on the ToDo list.

@rilian - Thanks. I'm definitely not a Mac guy. Isn't there an emulator that might work?

1) yeah, date problem is also reported on my team forum :)

2) if you load WU data from server (i.e. WCGDAWS program logs in on worldcommunitygrid.org periodically under user account and crawls on the results pages), then it is easier to port it on Mac or even run it in some Virtual machine
If you collect WU data somehow from BOINC folder (like WUProp project) then it will require some rewriting on mac (though requests to BOINC daemon are cross-platform) ...

Re: New stats program

for future version, it would be nice to click on WU (with error indicator) and WCGDAWS will copy to clipboard a nice BB-code-formatted message about WU name, times, error text and such, opening in browser proper project forum on this site ;)

That's how it works, but only when Update is clicked. It's not a service.

Being able to run it through task scheduler is also on the ToDo list.
